Deendar

Deendar is a Muslim community in Pakistan.
Deendar is a name given to a non-Muslim person who has accepted Islam.
During the British Raj, some members of the Chuhra community converted to Christianity. After the independence of Pakistan in 1947, some of those Chuhra Christians converted to Islam. They and their descendants became known as Deendar or Deendar Changar in Pakistan.
Some Panwar Rajputs are called Deendar because their ancestors were among the last to accept Islam. Most of them are located in Sialkot, Lahore, Gujranwala, Vehari and Khanewal.
