Dennis (singer)
Dennis Rizzi, known professionally as simply Dennis, formerly known as Deddy, is an Italian singer-songwriter.
Early life and education
Born in 2002 in Settimo Torinese and graduated from a technical institute in Turin, he decided to pursue a musical career, studying piano and working as a barber to pay for his studies.Career
His first musical experience was in 2020 following the release of the single "Forti e fragili" on Spotify, then, during the same year, for the record label Warner Music Italy.In November 2020, he auditioned for the twentieth edition of the Canale 5 music talent show Amici di Maria De Filippi, advancing to the initial stage. In March 2021, he gained access to the evening phase of the program, joining the team led by professors Alessandra Celentano and Rudy Zerbi. The following May, he reached the final, placing third in the overall standings, tied with singer-songwriter Aka 7even and dancer Alessandro Cavallo.
While participating in Amici, he released several unreleased songs, including "Il cielo contromano", "Parole a caso", "Ancora in due", "0 passi" and "La prima estate". He later compiled all five tracks into his first EP, Il cielo contromano, released on 14 May 2021, and later certified platinum. He subsequently received an award at the SEAT Music Awards for the single "Il cielo contromano".
On August 15, 2021, he released the single "Pensa a te", followed on 24 September by the single "Giove". Both were included on his first studio album, Il cielo contromano su Giove, released on 8 October. The album also spawned the single " Mentre ti spoglio", released on 17 December. On 15 April 2022, he released the song "Non mi fa dormire", a collaboration with Caffelatte. The single "Luci addosso" was released on 17 June. In 2023, he released the singles "Casa gigante", "Balla " and "Le regole del fuoco".
In 2024, the artist decided to change his stage name from Deddy to Dennis, his birth name. To mark the occasion, he released the single "Un altro nome", which was released on 19 July. On 27 September the single "Persi per niente" was released, which won the Lunezia Award from the newspaper La Nazione.
The single "Hooligans" was released on 28 February 2025, followed by the single "Pari o dispari" on 9 May. The single "Estate infinita" was released on 18 July.
