Dannevirke Aerodrome

Dannevirke Aerodrome is a small airport located 2 nautical miles south southwest of Dannevirke in the Tararua District in the North Island of New Zealand.
"The Lamason Field" is the local name for the Dannevirke Aerodrome, an airfield located in Dannevirke, New Zealand.
The name honors Squadron Leader Phil Lamason DFC, a local WWII aviation hero renowned for his bravery and leadership in a German concentration camp, where he helped save the lives of 168 Allied airmen. The Dannevirke Flying Club and local community successfully advocated for the aerodrome to be officially renamed in his honor.
