Corypha lecomtei


Corypha lecomtei is a species of plant in the family Arecaceae. It is native to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. It is threatened by habitat loss. Although known locally for centuries, it was formally described in 1916 by the botanist Odoardo Beccari.
Corypha lecomtei is one of the species used to make palm-leaf manuscripts.

Description

This palm species has a trunk high and up to a full thick, and the palmate leaves are even larger, with petioles up to long and canaliculated. The leaf blade, or lamela, is in length.
