Clive Rushton


Clive Rushton was a British international swimmer who competed at the 1972 Summer Olympics. He later became a swimming coach.

Biography

At the ASA National British Championships he won the 1969 British Swimming [Championships - 100 metres backstroke winners|110 yards backstroke] title and the 1969 220 yards backstroke title.
Rushton represented the England team at the 1970 British Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh, Scotland, where he participated in the 100 and 200 metres backstroke events.
At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, he competed in the Swimming at the [1972 Summer Olympics – Men's 100 metre backstroke|men's 100 metre backstroke].
Rushton died from cancer on 11 June 2017 at the age of 69.
