City Center Doha Mall


City Center Doha Mall is a major shopping, leisure, and entertainment complex in Doha, Qatar. It is one of the country’s oldest and most established malls, located in the West Bay business district and is one of the largest malls in Qatar. It is owned by Aamal Company Q.P.S.C. and managed in part through a joint venture under Aamal‑ECE. As of 2021, there are around 260 stores in Doha City Center.

History

Construction of the mall began in the late 1990s and it officially opened to the public in 2001. At the time, it was the largest shopping complex in Qatar and among the largest in the Gulf region. Over the following years, the mall underwent several development phases. In 2015, a 300 million QAR renovation plan was announced. This upgrade involved architectural redesigns, improvement of foot traffic circulation, modernization of the interiors, and an increase in the number of large anchor tenant spaces to compete with newer malls.
In December 2021, City Center Doha celebrated its 20th anniversary with the inauguration of "Soho Square", a new open-air section featuring restaurants, a decorative fountain, and a landscaped pedestrian plaza. The event also marked the addition of over 50 new shops and a redesigned food court.

Design and facilities

City Center Doha spans five levels and covers a total built-up area of approximately 300,000 square meters, of which over 120,000 square meters is gross leasable space. The mall features over 370 retail outlets, showcasing a mix of local boutiques and well-known international brands across fashion, electronics, cosmetics, and home goods. The design incorporates large skylights, wide corridors, and spacious atriums to enhance natural lighting and foot traffic flow.
Among its key facilities are a 14-screen Cineco cinema, multiple family entertainment zones, a large Carrefour hypermarket, and food courts with more than 38 dining outlets. Additional services include banks, currency exchanges, tailoring, shoe repair, and car rental counters. The mall frequently hosts seasonal events, holiday decorations, and children’s shows during occasions such as Eid and National Day.
