Cioburciu, Transnistria


Cioburciu is a village in the Slobozia District of Transnistria, Moldova. It has since 1990 been administered as a part of the breakaway Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
According to the unofficial census of 2004, the population of the village was 7,176 inhabitants, of which 6,214 Moldovans, 457 Ukrainians and 436 Russians.
During the 2025 Moldovan energy crisis, a retired couple died in Cioborciu from carbon monoxide poisoning after leaving a stove on and going to sleep.
