Connolly, Volume I , lists him as Chief Engineer in Gibraltar in 1787.

Colonel – 1 January 1783 		Stephen-Lee , has him arriving in Gibraltar in 1791 on his appointment as the Chief Engineer. It also has him back in Britain in 1797 on his appointment as the Chief Engineer of Great Britain.
