History
The locality takes its name from the former Cawdor railway station, named by the Queensland Railway Department to be named after a character from William Shakespeare's play, Macbeth.Cawdor Provisional School opened in October 1893. It had become Cawdor State School by 1897. It closed in 1951. It was on a land parcel at 149 Cawdor Drive.
