Carlos Germán Belli
Carlos Germán Belli de La Torre was a Peruvian poet of Italian parentage. He also translated American, French, Italian, and Brazilian poetry into Spanish. Belli won the Pablo Neruda Ibero-American Poetry Award in 2006, which was granted by Chile's National Council of Culture and the Arts. Belli was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2007. He died on 10 August 2024, at the age of 96.
