Carex hachijoensis

Carex hachijoensis, also commonly known as variegated Japanese sedge, Japanese sedge or evergold, is a sedge of the Cyperaceae family that is native to temperate parts of eastern Asia in Japan.
The sedge is endemic to rocky slopes and forest floors on the island of Japan and has narrow strap-like leaves that have a yellow to white centre and darker green edges and have a triangular cross-section toward the base.
The species takes its name from the island of Hachijo-jima a volcanic island to the south of Tokyo and was named by the botanist Shigeo Akiyama in 1937.
