Broughton F.C.
Broughton F.C. are a long running amateur football club based in Broughton, a village and civil parish in the heart of the Test Valley district in Hampshire, England.
The club are affiliated to the Hampshire Football Association and are members of the Hampshire Premier League. The club run two adult and six youth sides.
History
Broughton F.C. were founded in 1901, and initially played friendly fixtures before joining the Andover & District League, where they remained members for many years.In 1966, they transferred to the Salisbury & District League for a spell, before becoming founder members the North Hants League in 1968. They initially did well in the new competition, finishing Division 1 runners-up in the inaugural season before twice winning the League Cup. However, they were relegated to Division 2 a few years later, and when the division was dissolved in 1981 they returned to the Andover & District League.
After a spell in the doldrums, Broughton recovered and consecutive title wins saw them promoted back to the North Hants League in 1988. They finished mid-table but won the League Cup and in 1990 where champions.
These successes saw the club elected to the Hampshire League where they did well to consolidate in a competitive Division 2, twice finishing sixth before relegation in 1998 to Division 3. In 2004 the competition was absorbed by the expanding Wessex League, and unable to meet the stricter ground criteria, Broughton instead became founder members of the Hampshire League 2004 and remained in that competition until 2013, when it became Division 1 of the Hampshire Premier League.
In 2016, they voluntarily dropped down the Andover & District League for a spell of rebuilding. Although they just missed out on the league title, Broughton enjoyed plenty of success in cup competitions - most notably winning the 2018 Hampshire Junior 'A' Cup after defeating Basingstoke outfit Twentyten 2-0 in the final.
Broughton returned to the county league in 2019, and the 2024/25 season was their most successful, winning the Division 1 title and the North Hants Intermediate Cup after defeating Silchester Village 2-1 in the final. Broughton also enjoyed an extended run in the Southampton Senior Cup, defeating several higher division clubs enroute to the semi-finals, where they lost 1-5 against Wessex League title chasers AFC Stoneham. After making ground improvements, including a new clubhouse, they were able to take promotion to the Senior Division.

Broughton FC play at Buckholt Lane Sports Field, Broughton, SO20 8DA and share the facilities with other sections of the parent Sports Club.The venue has ample parking, the football pitch enclosed with a fixed barrier. A new multi-purpose pavilion was opened in 2025.
