Bob Friedlund


Robert Memler Friedlund was an American football player and coach. He played college football at Michigan State College—now known as Michigan State University. Friedlund also played professional football in the National Football League for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1946. He appeared in two games before being demoted to the Eagles' American [Association (American football)|American Football League] affiliate, the Bethlehem Bulldogs. In 1947, he was hired as an assistant football coach at Drake University.
In 1976, Friedlund returned to coach after being in private business since 1956 as the head coach for Olivet [Comets football|Olivet]. He coached for one season before resigning after a winless 0–9 campaign.
