History

Befu Station opened on August 19, 1923 as Befu-kitaguchi Station. It was renamed Dentetsu Befu Station on April 1, 1944 and renamed to its present name on April 7, 1991.

Passenger statistics

In fiscal 2018, the station was used by an average of 4,784 passengers daily.
In 2025, Befu was made a Limited Express stop with the February 2025 timetable change.
