Barolo, Piedmont
Barolo is a comune in the Province of Cuneo in the Italian region Piedmont, located about southeast of Turin and about northeast of Cuneo. As of 30 April 2009, it had a population of 750 and an area of.
Barolo borders the following municipalities: Castiglione Falletto, La Morra, Monforte d'Alba, Narzole, and Novello. Barolo is an important wine-producing area noted for its Barolo wine of the same name, and many wineries such as Poderi Colla have vineyards here.
Barolo is home to the multi-coloured art project The Chapel of Barolo by American artist Sol LeWitt and English artist David Tremlett created in 1999. It is one of I Borghi più belli d'Italia. It is also home to the medieval Barolo Castle.
