Audrey Williamson

Audrey Doreen Swayne Williamson was a British athlete who competed mainly in the 200 metres and competed at the 1948 Summer Olympics.

Biography

Williamson finished third behind Sylvia Cheeseman in the 200 metres event at the 1948 WAAA Championships.
Shortly afterwards, she competed for Great Britain at the 1948 Olympics Games, held in London, where she won the silver medal in the Athletics at the [1948 Summer Olympics – Women's 200 metres|200 metres]. Her bronze medal in the 200 metres at the Olympics remains the best performance for a British female athlete.
