Artur Hennings
Artur Hennings was a German chess International Master , East Germany Chess Championships medalist, European [Team Chess Championship] team medalist.
Biography
In the 1960s and 1970s Artur Hennings was one of the leading East Germany chess players. From 1963 to 1973 he seven times played in East Germany Chess Championship finals and won three medals: silver and two bronze. Artur Hennings has achieved several successes in international chess tournaments, including first or shared first place in Bydgoszcz, Bucharest, Amsterdam, Lublin and Leipzig. In 1965, he was awarded the FIDE International Master title.Artur Hennings played for East Germany in the Chess Olympiads:
- In 1968, at second reserve board in the 18th Chess Olympiad in Lugano,
- In 1970, at fourth board in the 19th Chess Olympiad in Siegen.
- * In 1970, at fourth board in the 4th European Team Chess Championship in Kapfenberg, and won team bronze medal.
