History
Aquae Novae was an ancient city in present Algeria, which was important enough to become a suffragan bishopric in the Roman province of Numidia, but faded.Titular see
The diocese was nominally restored in 1933 as a titular bishopric.It has had the following incumbents, all of the lowest rank :
- Douglas Joseph Warren, as Auxiliary Bishop of Wilcannia–Forbes, later succeeded as Bishop of Wilcannia-Forbes
- Samuel Silverio Buitrago Trujillo, Lazarists, Auxiliary Bishop of Manizales, later Bishop of Montería, finally Metropolitan Archbishop of Popayán
- Tito Solari Capellari, Salesians, Auxiliary Bishop of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Coadjutor Archbishop of Cochabamba, succeeding as Metropolitan Archbishop of Cochabamba
- Albano Bortoletto Cavallin, Auxiliary Bishop of Curitiba, Bishop of Guarapuava, Metropolitan Archbishop of Londrina
