Antimicrobial potential of various substituted azetidine derivatives

Antimicrobial potential of various substituted azetidine derivatives is a scholarly work, published in 2018 in ''MOJ Bioorganic & Organic Chemistry''. The main subjects of the publication include chemistry, azetidine, carbon–hydrogen bond activation, combinatorial chemistry, antimicrobial agent, β-lactam antibiotic, and click chemistry. Azetidine derivatives are reported to show a variety of antimicrobial, antitubercular, anticonvulsant, anti-inflammatory and cardiovascular activities. This review is focused on antimicrobial activities of azetidine derivatives. The use of antimicrobial agents is limited due to rapidly developing drug resistance and side effects. Therefore, the development of new antimicrobial drugs is an essential aim.Much of research efforts are directed towards the design of new effective antimicribials.
