Acknowledgment to Referees (article, 2016)
Acknowledgment to Referees is a scholarly work, published in 2016 in ''Drugs''. The main subjects of the publication include medicine and pharmacotherapy. As authors approach the end of 2016, and publish the authors' final issue of Drugs for the year, I wish to reflect on another successful year for the journal and to thank all who have contributed to Drugs over the past 12 months.Drugs is now in its 46th year of publication with a current 2015 impact factor of 4.883 (an increase of 12% on 2014).AdisInsight Reports continue to be published for all first approvals of new chemical entities, and data show that they have maintained good usage and excellent citation statistics. As I write this letter at the end of October, a total of 11 articles have been downloaded over 1000 times already this year. These articles covered topics such as SGLT2 (sodium glucose cotransporter type 2) inhibitors in type 2 diabetes, new developments in non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, cancer treatment with anti-programmed death (PD)-1/PD ligand 1 (L1) agents, s-directed therapeutics for Alzheimer's disease, and comprehensive reviews of much-needed new antimicrobial agents. The majority of the authors' other journals saw a rise in impact factor against the previous year. Most notably, four more of the authors' journals also saw an increase of over 10%-The Patient (17%), Clinical Drug Investigation (16%), the American Journal of Clinical Dermatology (13%) and Drug Safety (13%).An important milestone was reached for the authors' recently launched open access journals, Drug Safety-Case Reports and Drugs-Real World Outcomes.Content from these journals is now available on PubMed Central. The Adis journals portfolio will expand in 2017, with the launch of PharmacoEconomics-Open.This new journal will be fully open access and will focus on the publication of applied research on the economic implications and health outcomes associated with drugs, devices and other healthcare interventions. It joins the authors' other well-respected health outcomes publications.
