The shrub typically grows to a height of. Like most species of Acacia it has phyllodes rather than true leaves. The evergreen, glabrous or hairyphyllodes appear crowded on the branchlets. The rigid and pungent phyllodes have an inequilateral to shallowly triangular shape with a length of and a width of and also has a midrib near the abaxial margin. It blooms from September to April and produces cream-white flowers.
