Aani (month)


Aani is the third month of the Tamil calendar. The name of the month is derived from the position of the Moon near the Anusham nakshatra on the pournami day. The month corresponds to muthu-venil season and falls in June-July in the Gregorian calendar.
In the Hindu lunar calendar, it corresponds to the third month of Jyeshtha, falling in the Gregorian months of May-June. In the Hindu solar calendar, it corresponds to the third month of Mithuna and begins with the Sun's entry into Gemini. In the Vaishnav calendar, it corresponds to the third month of Trivikrama.
