A modeling paradigm incorporating parametric and non-parametric methods is a scholarly work, published in 2004 in ''Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society''. The main subjects of the publication include optogenetics, artificial intelligence, parametric statistics, parametric model, computer science, synaptic plasticity, non-parametric statistics, and algorithm. A novel parametric/non-parametric modeling paradigm was defined and used in characterization of synaptic transmission.
