A List of Cadres Who Should Be Protected

"A List of Cadres Who Should Be Protected" was a special list of high-ranking cadres drafted by Premier Zhou Enlai of the State Council of the People's Republic of China on August 30, 1966, and approved by Mao Zedong. Those named for protection were spared direct criticism and personal attacks during the Cultural Revolution because of this list.
The list was created in response the murder of scientist Yao Tongbin by workers from a rival faction during the Cultural Revolution.
