6th Independent Air Defence Brigade

The 6th Independent Air Defence Brigade is an independent anti-aircraft artillery brigade of the Bangladesh Army.

History

The brigade has been involved in securing major events and infrastructure in Dhaka, including reviewing security measures at religious sites.
The brigade has a winter training area at Dattapara in Ashulia.

Equipment

As of 2009, the brigade was equipped with various types of Chinese anti-aircraft artillery and Chinese HN-5A man-portable air-defense systems. It was in the process of replacing the latter with Chinese QW-2 MANPADS.
