2017 Iowa State Cyclones football team


The 2017 Iowa State Cyclones football team represented Iowa State University as a member of Big 12 Conference during the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season. Led by second-year head coach Matt Campbell, the Cyclones compiled an overall record of 8–5 with a mark of 5–4 in conference play, placing in a four-way tie for fourth in the Big 12. Iowa State was invited to the Liberty Bowl, where the Cyclones defeated [2017 2017 Memphis Tigers football team|Memphis Tigers football team|Memphis]. The team played home games at Jack Trice Stadium in Ames, Iowa.

Schedule

Iowa State announced their 2017 football schedule on December 13, 2016. The 2017 schedule comprised six home and six away games in the regular season. Originally, Iowa State was scheduled to play Akron on September 23, but that game was moved up to September 16. They also scheduled to open Big 12 play against Texas on September 30, but that game was moved up to September 28.
