2000 Mnet Music Video Festival
The 2000 Mnet Music Video Festival took place on November 24, 2000 at Little Angels Arts Center in Seoul, South Korea. The ceremony was hosted by actor-singer Cha Tae-hyun and actress Kim Hyun-joo. The show's most nominated artists were boy band H.O.T. and soloist Jo Sung-mo with three each. Jo had the most wins with two including Music Video of the Year while H.O.T. won Best Popular Music Video.
Background
The award-giving body continued to be named as M.net Korean Music Festival for the second time. During this time, four more categories were added including Best R&B Performance. Best New Artist and Best Group were given to two recipients each since the awards for male and female recipients were separated. In addition, Best Group branched out further to give a separate award for Best Mixed Group. In addition, the event also featured Westlife, the first international artist to perform live in the show. The Grand Prize were the Best Popular Music Video Award and Music Video of the Year.Presenters
