1998 National Invitation Tournament
The 1998 National Invitation Tournament was the 1997 edition of the annual NCAA college basketball competition. Minnesota's tournament victory was [University of 1997–98 Minnesota Golden Gophers men's basketball team|Minnesota basketball scandal|vacated] as a result of numerous NCAA violations, including academic fraud, that took place under coach Clem Haskins. Kevin Clark also vacated his tournament Most Valuable Player award.
