March 16: 6th Academy Awards: Walt Disney's The Three Little Pigs receives the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.

May

May 3: Wilfred Jackson's The Wise Little Hen premieres at the Carthay Circle Theatre; it features the debut of Donald Duck. The film would be released nationwide on June 9, which would later be declared as the date for Donald's birthday.

August

August 3: The Fleischer Brothers' Betty Boop cartoon Poor Cinderella is released, it's the only Betty Boop cartoon made in color.

September

September 1: The first cartoon from MGM, as well as the first in the Happy Harmonies series. The Discontented Canary from Harman and Ising is released.
