Ie (letter)
Ie, Hie, or Iota is the 15th letter of the three Georgian scripts.
Historically, this letter was used instead of ი after vowels. It represents the voiced palatal approximant /j/. In the system of Georgian numerals it has a value of 60. It is now obsolete in the Georgian language, replaced by ი due to its identical pronunciation. Currently, it is used in the Svan, Mingrelian and the Laz language. It is typically romanized with the letter J or Y.
