District 3
District 3 is the most competitive congressional district in the state, with a Cook PVI of R+2. The incumbent, Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, was re-elected with 51.7% of the vote in 2024. In that year, she was one of only 13 Democrats to win a Congressional seat in a district also won by Donald Trump.Gluesenkamp Perez has received criticism from her left for her support of the SAVE Act, her vote to censure fellow Democratic Representative Al Green, and other positions. In May 2025, Brent Hennrich, a stay-at-home father and candidate for this district in 2022, announced his intention to run against Perez, citing her support for the SAVE Act and the Laken Riley Act.
On January 22, 2026, Representative Gluesenkamp Perez was one of seven Democrats that voted to fund ICE. Consequently, she faced backlash from several Democrats in the state. Former Democratic Washington State Representative JD Rossetti announced that he would be forming an exploratory committee to potentially challenge Gluesenkamp Perez in the 2026 election.
