KPCR-LP is a non-commercial low-power FM radio station broadcasting an Alternative Rock/Indie Rock format. Licensed to Los Gatos, California, the station serves the areas of Los Gatos, San Jose, Campbell, and Santa Cruz. KPCR-LP is owned by the Central Coast Media Education Foundation.

History

Central Coast Media Education Foundation founded KPCR-LP in 2019. The station's inception aimed to carry the mission of Pirate Cat Radio and provide a platform for local artists, musicians, and community members to share their talents and voices. Originally based in Santa Cruz, KPCR-LP moved to Los Gatos in December 2023. The move allowed the station to expand its reach and engage with a broader audience while remaining committed to its roots in grassroots media and community activism.

KPCR 92.9FM features diverse programming catering to various musical genres and interests. The station's schedule includes music shows, talk shows, and news segments, offering something for everyone in the community. Popular shows include "i want you to know" and Drinks with Tony, which have garnered a loyal following among listeners.
