Michel Fattal


Michel Fattal is a French-language author whose works are translated into Italian and Polish.
Michel Fattal treats statute of Logos in Greek Philosophy. The works of Heraclitus and Aristotle, of Parmenides, Plato, Chrysippus and Plotinus are also sources of inspiration to him.
He is the author of several books on Plato, Plotinus and the neoplatonic tradition.
Michel Fattal, professor authorized to direct research in ancient and medieval philosophy at the University of Grenoble Alpes, has been Professor Emeritus since September 1, 2023. The Emeritus was awarded to him by the research commission of the University of Grenoble Alpes.
He is also a permanent visiting professor in ancient philosophy at the UNESCO "Archai" Chair promoting research on the origins of Western thought.
The Charles Lyon Caen Prize was awarded by the Academy of Moral and Political Sciences at the Institut de France on November 17, 2014, for his work: Plato and Plotinus. Relation, Logos, Intuition, Paris, L'Harmattan, 2013
Since December 13, 2024, he has been a full member of the Academy of Sciences, Belles Lettres and Arts of Savoy.
